The questions everyone asks about a download manager that refuses to charge money.

Is Fetchly really free? What is the catch?

Yes — free for everyone, forever. No accounts, no license keys, no trial timers, no feature paywalls. Fetchly was built because its maker wanted an IDM-style downloader with a better UI and no paywall, so there is none.

How is it faster than a normal browser download?

Instead of one connection, Fetchly opens up to 32 simultaneous connections to different byte ranges of the same file and reassembles them. On servers that throttle single connections, that multiplies your real speed.

Does resume actually work after a reboot?

Yes. Download state is checkpointed to disk every 10 seconds and the full list lives in a SQLite history file. Close the app, lose power, reboot — on launch, interrupted downloads resume from the last checkpoint (on servers that support resume).

What is Smart Link Healer?

Many download links expire or rotate. When you add a download, Fetchly can remember the page the link came from. If the link later dies, Smart Link Healer revisits that page, finds the fresh link, and continues the same download instead of failing it.

Which browsers does the extension support?

Chrome, Edge and Brave — any Chromium browser that accepts unpacked Manifest V3 extensions. It catches downloads automatically and can also be triggered from the right-click menu on any link.

Can Fetchly download torrents?

Yes. Torrents run on an in-process engine inside Fetchly, in the same list as regular downloads, with peers, seeds and upload speed shown. No separate torrent client needed.

What happens when I upgrade to a new version?

Run the new installer over your existing install. It upgrades in place and your download history, queue and settings carry over untouched.

Still curious? The Features page goes deeper, or just download Fetchly and see for yourself — it is free, after all.
