A download manager with a grudge against paywalls
Fetchly exists because a good tool kept asking for money. So its maker built a better one — and made it free for everyone, forever.
The story
Built by STARFORD DEV
Fetchly started with a simple brief: an IDM-like downloader with a better UI and no paywall. It grew into a full download manager — segmented engine, torrent support, a link-healing system, a browser extension — without ever growing a price tag.
It is designed and built in Nairobi, Kenya by STARFORD DEV, the one-person studio behind FundiMtaani, BillMint, PremiumSlots and more.
Principles
Three rules Fetchly never breaks
Free means free
No trial that expires, no features locked behind a tier, no "Pro" upsell waiting in the settings. The whole app is the whole app.
Your machine, your data
No accounts and no telemetry server to phone home to. Your download history lives in a local SQLite file on your own disk.
Finish the download
Every design decision serves one goal: the file lands, complete, even when the network, the power or the link itself tries to stop it.
